Cress, Creeping Yellow

Rorippa sylvestris
A 2' plant with a weak stem. Most of the leaves are on the lower stem and are stalked. These leaves are deeply pinnately lobed, each lobe lance-shaped or oblong. There may be a few sessile, simple, lance-shaped leaves on the upper stem. The 1/4" bright yellow flowers have 4 petals that are longer than the sepals. The 3/8-1" slightly curved seed pods are at right angles to the stem and are on slender 1/4" stalks. Blooms in late summer and fall. Found in wet areas, roadsides. A native of Europe.
