Eranthis hyemalis
A 3-4” hairless plant. The 1” flower has 6 yellow petal-like sepals and a central clump of many stamens and 4 pistils. There is a whorl of lance-shaped, often lobed leaves just below the stalkless flower. Blooms February, March.
An occasional escape from cultivation. Moist shady places.
