| A slender, square-stemmed 1-2' plant with opposite, lance-shaped or ovate leaves on short stalks. The shallowly lobed leaves are almost oak-like. The tiny 1/12" flowers are in dense clusters in the leaf axils. The white corolla is 4-lobed and the stamens protrude beyond it. The calyx has 5 bristle-tipped lobes. Blooms June-October in wet meadow, along streams. |
