Mountain-Mint, Slender

Pychnanthemum flexuosum
A very aromatic, fine-haired 1-2 1/2' plant with a square stem. There are numerous slender, smooth-edged leaves and many short side-branches from leaf axils. The small flowers are in smallish clusters, themselves in larger clusters near the tops of stems and side branches. The white corolla has 4 nearly equal lobes (actually a 3-lobed lower lip and a slightly smaller upper lip) and may have reddish dots. Blooms July, August in fields, woods borders.
