|A 2-5' woody shrub with an angled, reddish-brown stem. The broadly elliptic leaves are coarsely toothed. The 1/4" white to pinkish flowers are in terminal pyramidal clusters and have 5 petals, 5 sepals and numerous stamens. Blooms June-September in moist areas.
Narrow-leaved meadowsweet (S. alba) is similar but has much narrower leaves.
