Meadow-Rue, Tall

Thalictrum polygamum
A tall 3-8' plant with a ridged and lightly hairy stem. The leaves are triple-compound with each 1" leaflet shallowly 3-lobed at the tip. There are terminal clusters of 1/3" flowers. There are no petals and the small greenish-white sepals fall early, leaving tufts of white stamens. Blooms June-August in swamps, wet meadows, stream banks. Much frequented by bees and butterflies.
