Jewelweed, Spotted/ Spotted Touch-Me-Not

Impatiens capensis
A 2-5' plant somewhat shorter than Pale jewelweed (I. Pallida), but with the same stalked, ovate, toothed leaves, translucent watery stem and "popping" seedpods. The 1" flowers are golden-orange splotched with reddish-brown and with a similar structure to Pale jewelweed, but the posterior spur is longer and the sac is longer than broad. Blooms July-October in wet woods, woods edges, stream banks, other moist shady places.
