Imperatoria ostruthium
A 3-5’ herb with a longitudinally ridged stem. The alternate leaf stalks spring from an open sheath and then split into 3 stalks, each bearing 3 ovate toothed leaflets. The tiny white flowers have 5 petals and are in 2” convex compound umbels. Blooms May to July in often large woodland patches. The flattened oval fruits are ribbed and commonly both flowers and fruits are present at the same time.
