Zizia aurea
A 1-3’ branched plant with alternate doubly compound leaves. The leaf stalks are sheathed at the base and each leaf has 3 parts, each part further divided into 3-7, toothed, lance-shaped, ovate leaflets. The very small bright yellow flowers are in flat-topped 2” clusters. Found in moist wood, blooms April-June.
